In Dort 207, we have are the college students who have lobster for dinner. “Hey, you guys want lobster?” asks Cheryl as she pulls hand-caught lobster tails from our overflowing freezer. A real Florida girl, Cheryl went lobster-ing this summer, hoarding the meaty tails for winter like a Michigan girl might do with pickled beets. (Yeah, we have it better here. There are fresh local strawberries at the market.) An hour or so later–an hour spent “homeworking” and eating guacamole–we were sitting down to lobster tails and lemon butter, rice and green beans. So delicious and so lovely to eat together, our little makeshift roomie family, telling stories about chickens and fishing and most of all loving Cheryl, Our Lady of the Lobster.
What, no gator nuggets?
only in the everglades can one justify eating le nugget de gator, me thinks
I’m so jealous!
come back and I’ll make cheryl feed you lobster!
What the hell kind of college IS this, and how come I never went there?
Don’t worry, our neighbors are subsisting on top ramen and tortilla chips (according to their trash) …aka it’s still college outside our indulgent room.
